Excellent food and service! One of the best in Salem! Worth the stop if you are just passing through.

We stopped in here on a Saturday night for dinner with a 5 person group. They were able to get us in which was around 8pm. The hostess I spoke with on the phone and who seated us was very friendly.
The server we had was friendly. He was a little slow getting us started but once we ordered our apps he was following up just regular enough which was good.
The wings ordered for an app were very good. Cooked perfectly and the BBQ sauce was tasty. The chicken quesadilla two of my group ordered they said was good and cooked well.
The other items ordered included a burger, chicken fettuccine, and steak along with fish and chips. All of the food was tasty and seasoned well. There was one issue with the blacken chicken fettuccine and the server quickly got it replaced with a regular chicken fettuccine no problem.
Two of the group ordered desserts. The cheesecake an the brownie with ice cream. Both were large portion sizes and very tasty. -

This was a disappointing experience. I was traveling through to Charlotte when I needed to refuel after refueling my vehicle. I saw a sign on the Interstate for this place and figured it sounded way better than just a blah fast food joint.
There wasn't a hostess so I just assumed I was to help myself to a table and hope I would be waited on... I chose to sit at the bar figuring I would grab a quick beer and burger and get back on the road. I spent a few minutes before going in, reading over the menu and settled on a particular burger that sounded mouth watering.
I sat at the bar only to be ignored several times. When I was finally acknowledged, I learned that they only had a "late night" menu. It didn't have a burger.. Sad face. I settled on chicken fingers. They were fat, meaty and juicy but pretty heavy on the breading. They were okay.
I was just disappointed over all and know I necessarily won't divert from the highway wen traveling through... -

I had no idea I would have great fresh tasting cod at a restaurant in Salem! The cod seemed to be pan seared, making it lightly coated in seasoning, and perfectly pleased the palate! My husband had a bite and was just as pleasantly surprised. It was served over a bed of kale in a citrus vinaigrette. I'm not a kale fan, but this cooked concoction had me satisfied. The meal came with a potato side, and I had the mashed potatoes. They had a bit too much pepper, but my baby even enjoyed them. Along with the meal I had the Very Berry Collins. I highly recommend this fruity and strong drink. I normally like to mix up cocktails to sample more of the menu, but I ended up getting this drink twice that evening! Mac and Bob's was a pleasant dinner surprise!

First off, they had beer cheese! This was my first time trying this, and it was delivered to perfection! The staff here was super friendly and attentive to our needs. I had the Mac and cheese with crabmeat, and it didn't disappoint. Just writing about it, is making my mouth water. Can't wait to come back to this place!
